| Formulation |
The sterile filtered solution was lyophilized from 10 mM
Tris, pH 7.5+ 75mM NaCl |
| Reconstitution |
We recommend a quick
spin followed by reconstitution in 5mM Tris, pH 7.5 to a concentration of
0.1-1.0 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers
and stored at 4 degree Celsius for 1 week or -20 degree Celsius for future
use. |
| Storage |
The lyophilized
protein is stable for a few weeks at room temperature, but best stored at
-20 degree Celsius. Reconstituted OPG should be stored in working aliquots
of -20 degree Celsius. |
| Purity |
Greater than 98% by
SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses. |
| Biological
Activity |
Determined by its
ability to neutralize the stimulation of U937 cells treated with 10 ng/ml of
sRANKL. |
| Description |
Human OPG (Osteoprotegerin),
also known as OCIF (Osteoclastogenesis is a member of the TNF receptor
superfamily. Recombinant human OPG/OCIF specifically acts on bone tissues
and increases bone mineral density and bone volume associated with a
decrease of active osteoclast number. Recombinant OPG is a 19.9 kDa protein,
comprising of 175 amino acid residues. |
