| Formulation |
The sterile filtered solution was lyophilized from 5 mM
Tris, pH 8.0 + 100 mM NaCl. |
| Reconstitution |
Centrifuge briefly to
bring the protein down to the bottom of the vial. Reconstitute in water to a
concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other
buffers and stored at 4 degree Celsius for 1 week or stored at -20 degree
Celsius for future use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. |
| Storage |
The lyophilized
protein is stable for a few weeks at room temperature, but best stored at
-20 degree Celsius. Reconstituted M-CSF should be stored in working aliquots
at -20 degree Celsius. |
| Purity |
Greater than 98% by
SDS-PAGE. |
| Biological
Activity |
The ED50
as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of
M-NFS-60 cells is less than 1.0 ng/mL, corresponding to a specific activity
greater than 1 x 10^6 units/mg. |
| Description |
Macrophage Colony
Stimulating Factor (M-CSF) is produced by various cell types including
fibroblasts, macrophages and endothelial cells. This colony stimulation
factor is involved in both the development and function of
monocytes/macrophages. Recombinant Mouse M-CSF is a disulfide-linked
homodimer composed of 18.2 kDa subunits of 156 amino acid residues. |
| Endotoxcin |
Endotoxin level is
less than 0.1 ng/μg. |
