The new Tenak closure system requires no silicone seal, which
would present an inherent risk of contamination. We have
eliminated this risk and guarantee a tested tightness.
As we all know, male and female threads on cryo-tubes are a
topic by themselves. The smooth inner surface provided by a male
thread is no doubt the better alternative as far as unrestricted
emptying of liquids without residues is concerned. Tenak
selected this variant, whereby the sophisticated design of the
closure requires no increase of the tube's outer diameter (a
plus for space reasons).
The universal star foot-type base of the tubes fits in almost
any rack and, in combination with the male thread closure,
permits convenient single-handed manipulations.
The cap closure requires no separate seal, i.e. harmful
influences are excluded from the start. The sketch illustrates
the functioning of the 3-fold seal, which prevents the ingress
of liquid nitrogen. The volume graduation with the white marking
space on the side plus an additional marking possibility on the
cap insert allow for optimal identification. The coding inserts
are available in different colours, of course.
