Chapter 1 Summary 1. Areas of application The Bio-Cinerator sterilizer is a high temperature sterilizing equipment commonly used in laboratories in Europe, America, and other developed countries. It is used to burn and sterilize platinum loops, vaccination needles, and other such small objects conveniently and quickly, completely taking the place of spirit lamps and Bunsen burners. The Bio-Cinerator sterilizer utilizes infrared heat to incinerate organic material deep within the ceramic funnel tube and prevents infectious spatter and cross contamination. Sterilization takes only 5 to 7 seconds at optimum sterilizing temperature of 825°C. This unit can be used in anaerobic chambers. It can even be used in the wilderness, allowing you to sterilize and burn any time.
2. Normal working conditions Environmental temperature: -10°C ~ 50°C Relative humidity: ≤90% Power source: AC220V ± 22V 50Hz ± 1Hz Highest altitude above sea level: Unlimited
3. Product characteristics and performance parameters 3.1 Product characteristics Small in size, light weight, simple and convenient to operate; main body made entirely of stainless steel; aesthetically pleasing, easy to clean, long working life. 3.2 Performance parameters Model number: Bio-Cinerator IV Highest temperature at core: 825°C ± 50°C Largest possible diameter of item to be sterilized: φ14mm Length of heating area: 100mm External dimensions: Length x width x height = 130 x 102 x 180mm Power source: AC220V ± 22V 50Hz ± 1Hz 135W Weight: 1.3kg Chapter 2 Basic Operating Instructions This chapter introduces the structure of this instrument, its on-off functions, and the preparations that need to be done before turning it on. If using this instrument for the first time, familiarize yourself with the contents of this chapter before turning on the instrument.
1. Structure
Structure details: 1. Heating module 2. Supporting column 3. Box 4. High/low temperature indicator light (red: very hot; green: low heat) 5. Power source and temperature control switch (“up” position: very hot; “middle” position: power off; “down” position: low heat) 6. Fuse
2.Work Principle The Bio-Cinerator sterilizer uses electronic control to heat up the infrared heating elements, thereby reaching the required temperature. This instrument provides two levels of temperature to choose from. During normal work, the user should choose the high heat level. At this time, the red indicator light for high heat level will start to glow. The instrument will take about 15 ~ 20 minutes to reach the required temperature. If the instrument is temporarily not in use, the temperature can be set to low heat, and the green indicator light for low heat level will start to glow. The instrument is then in preheat mode. If the instrument is unused for a long time, turn off the power by putting the power switch (No. 5 in the above diagram) in the middle position. Chapter 3 Operating Guide 1. Preparation Place the instrument steadily on the work table, taking special care to ensure that there are no flammable or explosive items around. After that, put the power switch in the middle position, thus turning off the instrument. Insert the power plug into an AC220V power socket with good grounding.
2. User guide When using the instrument, set the power switch to the high heat level. At this time, the red indicator light for high heat level will start to glow. Wait 15 ~ 20 minutes for the temperature within the small radiation holes to reach the required level. Note 1: If using the instrument for the first time, the small radiation holes will emit white smoke after the instrument is connected to the power source. This is because the high temperature protective layer of new products contains glue, fat and evaporating moisture. The smoke is not due to the instrument breaking down and will disappear after the instrument has been in use for a few minutes. Please do not be too concerned about this. Place the loops, needles, and other similar objects into the high temperature area within the heating holes to undergo sterilization. (The centre portion of the heating body is the hottest.) If the instrument will not be used for a short period of time, set the switch to the low heat position. The green indicator light for low heat level will start glowing. The instrument is in the preheat and energy conservation mode. When ready to sterilize, set the switch to the high temperature position to immediately begin sterilizing. If the instrument will not be used for a long period of time, the power should be turned off, to lengthen the working life of the heating body and to save energy. Note 2: Do not heat vaccination needles or other metal vaccination items for too long, in order to prevent scalding. To prevent electric shock, do not place metal items into the interior of the electric appliance (other than the heating holes). Note 3: The suggested voltage for this instrument is between 220 ~ 240V. Under such conditions, the instrument can reach the required sterilizing temperature more quickly, and sterilize more quickly as well. The instrument can also operate on a voltage lower than 220V, but it will take slightly longer to reach the required sterilizing temperature. This is not due to the instrument breaking down. It will take 5 ~ 7 seconds to reach requirements if loops, needles, and so on, are placed deep within the heating holes. The resting time need not be long, because all microorganisms will be killed within 5 seconds. Microorganism culture tubes made of glass and with a diameter smaller than 14mm can also be sterilized within the heating holes. At this time, take special care to ensure that the tubes do not contain any liquid or other objects, to prevent the liquid splashing out, and explosions or other dangerous accidents from happening. Note 4: Do not place plastic and other materials which cannot withstand high temperatures into the heating holes, in order to prevent accidents. Note 5: The instrument can work continuously, but it is suggested that the user not let it run for long periods in the high temperature setting, because this can influence the working life of the instrument. Do not leave it on for long periods of time unattended, to prevent fires and other such accidents.
