Description: Human recombinant Interferon beta is produced in genetically engineered bacteria (Escherichia coli), and purified by organic extraction and sequential chromatography (1).

 
Biological Activity: The biological activity of human Interferon beta is measured by the cytophatic effect inhibition assay (2). The specific activity is 16x106 U/mg.

 
Formulation: Interferon beta is formulated in 0.6 mg dextrose, 0.6 mg human serum albumin. 200,000 U/vial.
Purity: Over 95% pure by amino acid composition, and SDS gel electrophoresis.
