General Information
PDX-1(pancreas duodenum homeobox-1) is a transcription factor that has been
shown to activate insulin, glucokinase, NeuroD-1,IAPP and soatostatin gene
transcription. PDX-1 also play an important role in pancreatic development.
Mutations in PDX-1 gene have been shown to cause type II diabetes.
